Participation in the "First Montevideo Economics Conference"

Dr. Néstor Gandelman, Academic Coordinator of Economics at the School of Administration and Social Sciences, was one of the chairs of the “First Montevideo Economics Conference,” alongside Dr. Germán Cubas, Senior Researcher at the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU) and researcher in the Department of Economics at the School of Social Sciences of the University of the Republic, and Dr. Juan Dubra, professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Montevideo.

The event, which took place on November 21, 2012, at the BCU headquarters, provided a forum for academics to present their recent research papers.

Dr. Flavia Roldán, a faculty professor and researcher, presented the article “Covert Networks and Antitrust Policy,” and Prof. Juan Francisco Rosas, a faculty professor, presented “Duality theory econometrics: How reliable is it with real-world data?”

Additionally, the article “Fit in or stand out? Peer effects and alcohol consumption” by Dr. Gandelman, along with Ana Balsa, Ph.D., a professor at the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Montevideo, and Nicolás González, a Ph.D. student at the Center for Monetary and Financial Studies (Spain), was presented.
