Architect Arana was a professor and director of the Institute of Architectural History at the School of Architecture of the University of the Republic (UdelaR). He served as a senator for the Artiguist faction of the Broad Front. He was chairman of the National Commission for Historical, Artistic, and Cultural Heritage from 1985 to 1989. He was the founder of the Banda Oriental Publishing House. He received the Jerusalem Prize from the Zionist Organization of Uruguay in 2000.
Caetano holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of La Plata (Argentina). He holds a Diploma in Contemporary History Research from CLAEH and is a Professor of History at the Artigas Teachers’ Institute. He has been a Full Member of the National Academy of Letters since 2007. He is the Academic Director of the Center for Training in Regional Integration and President of the UNESCO Center in Montevideo. He is the Academic Secretary of the Academic Center for International Relations. He served as Academic Supervisor for the research and preparation of the publication on “State Terrorism and the Final Fate of the Disappeared Detainees During the Military Dictatorship.” He served as an individual member of the Governing Council of the Latin American Faculty of Social Sciences and as an alternate representative for the Argentina-Uruguay subregion on the Executive Board of the Latin American Council of Social Sciences. He is a member of the Selection Committee of the National System of Researchers of Uruguay, where he is classified as a Level III researcher. He has published more than 150 works as author and co-author, the most recent of which is "La República Batllista." He received the Jerusalem Award from the Zionist Organization of Uruguay (2008).
Destouet holds a Diploma in Human Rights from the Inter-American Institute of Human Rights in Costa Rica and a degree in History from the Artigas Teachers’ Institute. He is a fellow at the International Center for Holocaust Studies in Houston (United States) and at the International School for Holocaust Studies at Yad Vashem (Israel), from which he also graduated as a Trainer of Trainers (Morei Morim) in Holocaust Education. He is co-author, along with architect Mariano Arana, of the book "5 Vertientes de la Izquierda."
Teitelbaum is General Coordinator of the annual Hashomer Hatzair trip to Poland (2000). He has resided in Israel since 1977 and is a member of Kibbutz Gvulot (Negev Desert). He is a member of the Expanded Zionist Executive.
