Teacher's project is a finalist in the "Antel Arena: Architecture Ideas Competition"

The architectural project submitted by Architect Arturo Silva, a tenured professor of Architecture Projects 5 and 6, along with Héctor Berio Lucas, Lucía Faccio, Paula Fernández, Maximiliano García, Cristina Bonifacino, and Sabrina Sánchez, is one of the five finalists in the “Antel Arena: Architectural Ideas Competition.”

The contest is organized by Antel and the Montevideo City Government, and the winning project will be announced in November 2013.

A total of 73 proposals were submitted.

Antel Arena will be designed as a state-of-the-art, multi-purpose stadium equipped with cutting-edge technology to host concerts and sporting events.

Meanwhile, the project submitted by a team that included, among others, architect Flavio Morán, a professor in the Interior Design program, received an honorable mention in the competition.

Morán’s team consists of:

  • Architect Jorge Casaravilla.
  • Bettina Angeloni, a student in the Bachelor's program in Interior Design and Architecture.
  • Alejandro Arcardini, a student in the Bachelor's program in Interior Design and Architecture.
  • Ovidio Caballero, Associate Professor and Advisor on Acoustic Design at the school.
  • Teo Corp, a student in the Bachelor's program in Interior Design and Architecture.
  • Valentina Perdomo, a student pursuing a bachelor's degree in interior design.
  • Emilio Viaño, a student in the Bachelor of Interior Design program.
  • Jessica Yacono, a student in the Bachelor of Interior Design program.
  • Martín Rebollo, a former student in the Interior Design program, who is currently pursuing his degree at the University of Palermo in Buenos Aires.
