Exhibition: “Parada 17 – Punta del Este Ideas Competition”

October 1, 2013
From September 25 to October 7, 2013, the Faculty of Architecture hosted an exhibition on the “Parada 17 Ideas Competition,” in which students enrolled in the Architecture Project 10 course participated. This competition, organized by the WSW (Weiss Sztryk Weiss) architectural firm, consisted of the presentation of preliminary designs for residential complexes in Punta del Este along the Dr. Claudio Williman coastal promenade, near Stop 17, on land owned by WSW. First prize went to Patricia Abella and Josefina Carrau, architecture students, for their project “A.C.M.E.”

The competition aimed to provide an academic exercise with real-world implications in the field of real estate, encouraging research into potential architectural and urban planning solutions to develop a high-quality proposal that would be of interest to the site. Students were required to conduct an urban analysis of the site and to develop a building volume proposal in relation to the immediate surroundings.
