Conference: “Agribusiness and Natural Resource Management in Uruguay”

On Tuesday, November 26, 2013, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted the conference “Agribusiness and Natural Resource Management in Uruguay,” the fourth session in a series of public policy discussions. The event was organized by CAF—Development Bank of Latin America.

Presenters:

Mariana Hill, Engineer, Director General of the General Directorate of Renewable Natural Resources at the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP).

Marcos Guigou, Engineer, Farmer, and Director of Agronegocios del Plata y Technology.

Mario Mondelli, Ph.D., Director of the Office of Agricultural Planning and Policy at the MGAP. He holds a Ph.D. in Applied Economics from the University of Missouri (United States). He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of São Paulo. He is an Agricultural Engineer. He is a Researcher at the Center for Economic Research (CINVE). He was a Researcher at the Center for Agribusiness Knowledge at the University of São Paulo. He was a Research Assistant at the University of Missouri.

Ricardo Passero, Executive Director of Enfoagro (Argentina). He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the Argentine University of Business and a Master’s degree in Agribusiness from the University of CEMA. He is a visiting professor for the Executive Program in Agribusiness at the University of San Andrés. He is a consultant for foreign investment funds on trade finance operations in Argentina.

Dr. Valentín Picasso, Director of the Department of Environmental Systems at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of the Republic. He holds a Ph.D. in Sustainable Agriculture from Iowa State University of Science and Technology (United States).
