Publication of Leonardo Haberkorn's book on the "Plata Quemada" case

March 20, 2014
In March 2014, Sudamericana published the book *Liberaij: The True Story of the Plata Quemada Case* by Leonardo Haberkorn, professor of Journalistic Genres and Introduction to Journalism at the School of Communication and Design.

The book launch took place on March 17 at AGADU’s Casa del Autor.

Summary of the article published on the In Situ website:

"On November 5, 1965, after a 16-hour standoff with more than 350 police officers, the Argentine assailants Marcelo Brignone, Carlos Alberto Mereles, and Roberto Dorda were killed in the Liberaij building, in the heart of Montevideo, at 1182 Julio Herrera y Obes Street." That text can be read on the back cover of the book.

Haberkorn reconstructed the story thanks to various interviews, a review of the press from that era, and, above all, thanks to an unpublished testimony.
