Spectorowski holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He was a professor at the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Notre Dame in Indiana (United States).
He served as a political advisor to former Israeli Foreign Minister Shlomo Ben-Ami, with whom he participated, alongside Palestinian officials, in the Camp David peace talks in 2000. He is the author of the book "The Origins of Argentina's Right-Wing Revolution" (University of Notre Dame Press, 2003) and author of numerous articles on fascist ideology and the New Right in Europe.
