Lecture: “The Dreyfus Affair: An Indelible Mark on History”

On October 6, 2014, the lecture “The Dreyfus Affair. An Indelible Mark on History,” led by Roberto Cyjon, former president of the Central Israeli Committee of Uruguay (2012–2014). As part of this event, the ORT 5775 Calendar (Ioman ORT) was presented, dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the Dreyfus Affair. The event was organized by the Department of Jewish Studies.
"Ioman "ORT" is a Jewish-themed calendar that Universidad ORT Uruguay annually since 1982, each edition focusing on a significant topic or figure in the history of the Jewish people. This year, the calendar’s feature article, written by Mr. Cyjon, was dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the scandal Dreyfus.

Cyjon holds a degree in electrical engineering from the Technion Institute of Technology in Israel. He served as president of the Central Council for Jewish Education (1995–1998) and president of the Zionist Organization of Uruguay (2003–2006).

He is the co-editor of the following books: *Zionism: One Hundred Years After Herzl*, published by the Zionist Organization of Uruguay and Artemisa Publishing (2004); and *Jerusalem: 19 Years of the Award, 19 Speeches*, published by the Zionist Organization of Uruguay and Fin de Siglo Editores (2009).

He is a fiction writer who has published the following books: *De Leyendas y Acantilados* (Melibea Publishing, 1999); *Maldita sea* (Nautilus Rey Publishing, 2001); "Flaco, yo me saco el pasaporte," Artemisa Publishing (2003); "Marcados para siempre," Ediciones de la Banda Oriental (2006); and "La verdad siempre esquiva," Dedos Publishing (2013).
