The founder of Bitton Games spoke about BasketDudes

On September 16, 2014, the Faculty of Communication and Design hosted the lecture “BasketDudes: The Creation and Evolution of an F2P Game,” presented by Fernando Piquer, CEO and founder of Bitoon Games, a Spanish company specializing in the development of Free-to-Play online video games. The event took place as part of the “9th National Video Game Competition” organized by Antel, Ingenio, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.

The speaker discussed the development of BasketDudes, one of the first F2P games in Europe, the design and production decisions made during its creation, and how the product has been adapted in the months following its launch. It was recognized as “Best European Online Web Game” at the 2011 edition of the Fun&Serious Game Festival ( Bilbao),

Piquer worked in the games division at Zinkia Entertainment, where he developed the first massively multiplayer mobile games in Spain, such as Wireless West and Olympia Online, and participated in the creation of World Cap Game, a free online multiplayer game. He served as Technical Director at Betybyte Entertainment, where he was responsible for developing Coca-Cola’s online community in Spain, “Movimiento Coca-Cola,” creating the community games and the online marketing platform.
