Lecture: “Patrick Modiano: An Overview of the Work of the Recent Nobel Laureate in Literature”

On November 17, 2014, ORT Pocitos hosted the lecture “Patrick Modiano: An Overview of the Work of the Recent Nobel Prize in Literature Winner,” presented by Gustavo Perednik, a visiting professor in the Department of Jewish Studies. The speaker analyzed the concepts of identity and memory, as well as the role of Jews and Vichy France in Modiano’s work. The event was organized by the Department of Jewish Studies.

Perednik is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (with honors), and completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy in New York. He studied the humanities at the Sorbonne (France), San Marcos (Peru), and Uppsala (Sweden). He was recognized as an outstanding professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
