A team from the School of Engineering placed in the top 5% of the regional finals of the “ACM International Programming Contest”

The team that won first prize in the “14th ORT Programming Contest,” organized last September by the School of Engineering, placed 84th out of 1,683 participating teams (in the top 5%) in the regional finals of the “ACM (Association for Computing Machinery) International Programming Contest.” The competition took place in Buenos Aires on November 8, 2014.

Meanwhile, the group that won second prize in the contest ranked 180th (top 10.7%).

84th place (top 5%):
- Germán Chiazzo, Systems Engineering student
- Álvaro Ingold, Systems Engineering student
- Ismael Rodríguez, Electronics Engineering student

180th place (top 10.7%):
- Martín Copes, Systems Engineering student
- Matías Crizul, Systems Engineering student
- Maximiliano Erlich, Systems Engineering student

Andrés de Sosa, academic coordinator of Computer Science at the School of Technology within the Faculty of Engineering, served as the coach for both teams.

For her part, Dr. Inés Kereki, professor of programming at the faculty, served as a judge for the competition.
