After a brief tour of the city, the delegation visited the university’s Centro and Pocitos campuses and attended two lectures: “Overview of Uruguay and the Region,” presented by Ec. Isidoro Hodara, academic coordinator of Foreign Trade at the School of Administration and Social Sciences, and “The Jewish Community in Uruguay,” presented by Roberto Cyjon, former president of the Central Israeli Committee of Uruguay.
A few days later, Dr. Jean de Gunzburg sent a letter of thanks and appreciation to the General Directorate, stating, among other things: “What we saw is absolutely fantastic. What a wide range of subjects you teach, and in such incredible facilities! Everywhere there is a sense of excellence, of culture (particularly through the university’s aesthetics, which are omnipresent), and of care for the students’ well-being.”
