Architecture students went on field trips to Colonia and Lavalleja

On March 14, 2015, students and faculty from Project 7 in the Architecture program visited Villa Serrana (Lavalleja) to familiarize themselves with the site where they will design a hotel with a capacity of up to 40 rooms as part of their coursework.

They also visited two significant works by architect Julio Vilamajó: the Ventorrillo de la Buena Vista Hotel and the Mesón de las Cañas Hotel.

Fifty students and the course instructors attended: architect Gabriel Fernández Birriel, architect Mónica Galain, architect Gastón Navarro, architect Javier Olascoaga, and assistant architect Lucía Bianchi.

Meanwhile, on March 21, 2015, students and instructors from the Architecture Project 3 course visited the city of Colonia.

They visited the historic district of Colonia del Sacramento and the Welcome, Interpretation, and Tourism Center, locations where the course’s project activities will take place.

Sixty students and the course instructors participated: Architect Alejandro Baptista, Architect Eduardo Bertiz, Architect Roberto Monteagudo, Architect Florencia Mutarelli, Architect Gustavo Sureda, Mag. Pedro Ruiz Diaz, and assistants Architect Ignacio Bonifacino, Architect Lucía Ferrés, and Architect Bruno Pedreira.
