Lecture: “The Hebrew Language in Civilization”

On July 28, 2015, the lecture “The Hebrew Language in Civilization,” presented by Gustavo Perednik, took place on the Pocitos campus. The speaker analyzed the influence of the Hebrew language on culture and provided an overview of the history and evolution of the language, from the Bible to Nobel Prize in Literature laureate Shmuel Agnon. The event was organized by the university’s Department of Jewish Studies.

Perednik is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (with honors), and completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy in New York. He studied the humanities at the Sorbonne (France), San Marcos (Peru), and Uppsala (Sweden). He was recognized as an outstanding professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
