In July 2015, five university graduates were selected by the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) and the U.S. Embassy in Uruguay to participate in a program for entrepreneurs, which will take place from August 1 to 9 at the University of California, Berkeley. A total of 10 entrepreneurs were selected from among the 30 who applied.

The selected entrepreneurs are:
-Marcelo Kronfeld, a graduate of the Bachelor’s in Management and Administration program and founder of Inzone and pagoyvoy.com.
-Andrés Levin, a graduate of the Systems Engineering program and co-founder and director of Qoollet.
-Alejandro Lozdziejski, graduate of the Systems Engineering program and founder of Sur3D.
-Kevin Natanzon, graduate of the Systems Engineering program and co-founder of Al Toque.
-Agustín Sartorio, graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Systems and co-founder and commercial director of UruguayPass and Uruguay 360.

In addition to participating in a nine-day course specially designed for them at the University of California, they will have the opportunity to visit startups, incubators, accelerators, and other players in the entrepreneurial ecosystem in a location known for its thriving entrepreneurial scene.

The call for applications was aimed at entrepreneurs with a company founded less than two years ago and linked to the information and communications technology sector. The entrepreneurs were also required to have a fluent command of the English language, both spoken and written.

Three of the selected entrepreneurs have developed ventures incubated by the CIE (Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship): Kronfeld, Natanzon, and Sartorio.
