Presentation of the article “Fiscal Instruments for Controlling and Reducing Pollution in Waterways: A Study Applied to the Santa Lucía River Basin”

The article “Fiscal Instruments for Controlling and Reducing Pollution in Waterways: A Study Applied to the Santa Lucía River Basin,” co-authored by scholars from the School of Management and Social Sciences, was presented at the seminar organized by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP) and the National Directorate of the Environment (DINAMA). The event, organized by the Office of Agricultural Policy and Planning (OPYPA) of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP), took place on July 8, 2015, in Montevideo.

The authors of the article are:

- Dr. Alicia Failde, researcher at the Center for Economic Research (CINVE).
- Bibiana Lanzilotta, B.A. in Economics, professor in the Economics Department of the School of Management and Social Sciences.
- Dr. Carlos Perdomo, full professor at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of the Republic.
- Dr. Mario Pérez Bidegain, assistant professor at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of the Republic.
- Dr. Francisco Rosas, faculty member in the Economics Department of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences, who presented the article.

The seminar presented the methodology and results of the study, which was the outcome of a project carried out within the framework of the Institutional Development Project of the Center for Fiscal Studies, funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation through an agreement between the Center and the Mercosur Network.
