Lecture: “Fragments of Genesis: A Philosophical Perspective”

On October 29, 2015, the lecture “Fragments of Genesis: A Philosophical Perspective” was held at the Pocitos Campus, presented by Dr. Santiago Kovadloff, honorary professor at the Autonomous University of Madrid and member of the Academic and Scientific Committee at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Israel. The speaker presented an interpretation of Genesis that allows for multiple interpretations. The event was organized by Limud.uy and the university’s Department of Jewish Studies.
Prof. Kovadloff holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Business and Social Sciences in Argentina. He holds a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Buenos Aires. He is a full member of the Argentine Academy of Letters, a corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy, and vice president of the National Academy of Moral and Political Sciences.

He is a member of the Argentine Chapter of the Club of Rome. He is a regular contributor to the Buenos Aires newspaper La Nación . He is a member of the Advisory Board of Criterio magazine. He was a visiting professor at the “Julio Cortázar” Latin American Chair in Guadalajara, Mexico. He was a member of the Ethics Tribunal of the Jewish community of Buenos Aires.

He is the author of the books *El silencio primordial*, *Ensayos de intimidad*, *Lo irremediable*, *Sentido y riesgo de la vida cotidiana*, *Una biografía de la lluvia*, *Los apremios del día*, and*El enigma del sufrimiento*, among others.
