The papers presented were:
- “Generation of biomimetic silica-GFP nanohybrids and study of their in vitro cytotoxicity” by Natalia Larrieux and Francisco Maresca, instructors in Project Laboratory 2 at the School of Engineering, Dr. Lorena Betancor, a research professor in Biotechnology at the school, and Prof. Josefina Loug, professor of Cell Biology and the Virology Workshop Extension at the faculty. It was presented by Ms. Larrieux.
- “Nanostructured Supports for the Purification of Clostridium perfringens Type D Epsilon Toxin” by Joaquín Rodríguez and Florencia Pirotti, Biotechnology Engineering students, and Dr. Lorena Betancor. It was presented by Rodríguez.
- “Immobilization and stabilization of trypanothione synthase” by Cecilia Maciel, a biotechnology engineering student and researcher at the Trypanosomas Redox Biology Laboratory at the Institut Pasteur, Uruguay; Marcelo Comini, a researcher at that laboratory; and Dr. Lorena Betancor. It was presented by Maciel.
- “Improvement in the stability of L-lactate dehydrogenase through immobilization engineering” by Erienne Jackson, research assistant at the Biotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Fernando López-Gallego, researcher at the Basque Foundation for Science’s Center for Cooperative Research in Biomaterials, Spain, Dr. José Manuel Guisan, research professor at the Spanish National Research Council’s Institute of Catalysis and Petrochemistry, Spain, and Dr. Lorena Betancor. It was presented by Ms. Jackson.
