Workshop on Israeli Society

On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at 7:30 p.m., the workshop “Israeli Society” will be held, led by Kevin Levin, a researcher at the Center for Studies on Religion, State, and Society at the Latin American Rabbinical Seminary. The workshop will examine issues related to the functioning of the Israeli political system and the challenges it faces in governing. The event is organized by Hillel Uruguay and the university’s Department of Jewish Studies.

Levin holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from the University of Buenos Aires. He is a member of the Team for Sociological Assistance to Plaintiffs in Trials for Systematic Human Rights Violations in Argentina, which operates under the Chair of Analysis of Genocidal Social Practices at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires. He teaches at the secondary level at the Martín Buber School and in various non-formal educational settings within the Jewish community.

He is a member of the editorial board of the newspaper Nueva Sion. He is a volunteer with Limud Buenos Aires, responsible, along with others, for developing the content for DIA Limud and Rosh Hashanah Urbano.

He served as Director of Projects for Argentina at Hagshamá of the World Zionist Organization (WZO). He was Director of Education for the Argentine Zionist Youth Council and Secretary of Hashomer Hatzair in Argentina.
