Chapters published in the 2015 Yearbook of the Office of Agricultural Policy and Planning of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries

Seven articles by faculty members from the School of Management and Social Sciences were published in November 2015 in the 2015 Yearbook of the Office of Agricultural Policy and Planning (OPYPA), published by the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture, and Fisheries (MGAP).

The sessions were:

- “Economic Environmental Accounts: Land and Forests” by Mariela Buonomo, Economist Mariela Buonomo, economist and specialist in the Natural Resources Economics Division at OPYPA; Lorena Erbure, management specialist and technician in that division; Dr. Francisco Rosas, technician in that division and professor in the Economics Department of the School of Administration and Social Sciences; and Dr. Mario Mondelli, director of OPYPA and professor of Economics at the school.

- “Fiscal Instruments for the Control and Reduction of Pollution in Waterways: A Study Applied to the Santa Lucía River Basin” by Alicia Failde, senior researcher at the Center for Economic Research (CINVE), Dr. Bibiana Lanzilotta, professor in the Department of Economics and senior researcher at CINVE, Prof. Carlos Perdomo and Prof. Mario Pérez Bidegain, professors in the Department of Soils and Water at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of the Republic, and Dr. Rosas.

- “Strategic Redesign of the Office of Agricultural Statistics-DIEA” by Laura Piedrabuena and Fernando Rincón, director and deputy director of Agricultural Statistics at the MGAP, and Dr. Mondelli.

- “Changes in Land Tenure in Livestock and Agriculture between 2000 and 2014” by María Noel Ackermann, technical economist at OPYPA, and Dr. Mondelli.

- “Agricultural/Agro-industrial Collective Organizations: Business and Policy Strategies for Their Competitive Development” by Dr. Mondelli and Leidy Gorga, a specialist in the Supply Chains and Economic Studies Division at OPYPA.

- “Mechanisms for Generational Transition in Dairy Farming. The situation in Uruguay and the New Zealand experience” by Dr. Mondelli and Ms. Gorga.

- “Foundations for sustainable intensification of the agricultural sector: the SDSN initiative” by Bruno Ferraro and Bruno Lanfranco, specialists at the National Institute of Agricultural Research (INIA), Dr. Mondelli, José Bervejillo, and María Eugenia Silva, specialists at OPYPA.
