April 28, 2015
On April 1, 2016, a workshop titled “Using Turnitin as a Tool to Support Academic Integrity” will be held for university faculty. It is organized by the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES) at the Institute of Education. The workshop will be led by Ana Olmedo, the institute’s academic secretary.

The university emphasizes the central importance of academic integrity in university life. That is why it promotes behaviors that recognize the intellectual merits of other authors through the proper citation of sources, ideas, arguments, data, or other types of information.

In the workshop, participants will work with Turnitin software, which detects plagiarism in written assignments submitted by students.

Olmedo is a Computer Engineer. She is certified in Educational Institution Management, Educational Planning and Supervision, and University Teaching by Universidad ORT Uruguay. She is an Educational Computer Science Instructor at the Instituto Magisterial Superior.
