Conference: “The New Challenges of Development Cooperation”

On April 25, 2016, the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences hosted a lecture titled “The New Challenges of Development Cooperation,” delivered by Dr. Teresa Ribeiro, Portugal’s Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The speaker discussed the new challenges facing development cooperation in that country.

The conference was held as part of Portugal Week 2016, which took place from April 17 to 23.

It was organized by the Portugal-South Atlantic Chamber of Commerce, the Portuguese Private Law Association, and the Uruguayan-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Ribeiro holds a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lisbon. She served as Deputy Secretary-General of the Union for the Mediterranean (2013–2015). She served as Co-Chair of the Committee on External Trade and Investment for the Mediterranean at the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean (2010–2011). She served as Secretary of State for European Affairs (2008–2009).

The event was organized by the academic coordination office of the Bachelor's Degree in International Studies.
