24 Hours of Innovation 2016 is an international competition aimed at finding creative and innovative solutions to challenges proposed by companies.
A total of 198 students, developers, and professionals from various fields participated, forming 27 teams that worked together for 24 hours.
The participating multidisciplinary teams are formed prior to the start of the competition from among the registered participants and have 24 hours to develop the concept and present it in a 2-minute video. The challenges are announced at the competition’s opening ceremony.
T.I.M.M.I. aims to “introduce new robots and their applications with the goal of improving agricultural productivity. The proposal must address the responsible and efficient use of natural resources.”

The event in Uruguay was jointly organized by the Catholic University of Uruguay, the University of Montevideo, the University of the Republic, and Universidad ORT Uruguay.
The dean of the School of Engineering, Mario Fernández, attended the opening of the competition. Enrique Topolansky, coordinator of the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), and Alejandro Bonicelli, a faculty member, served on the jury representing the university.
The awards ceremony will take place on June 10, 2016, at Antel’s Telecommunications Tower.
