Exhibition: "Nelly and Nahum Bergstein: 100 Years of Jewish Life in Uruguay"

On June 19, 2016, the "Jidón 2016: Nelly and Nahum Bergstein. 100 Years of Jewish Life in Uruguay" took place at the Pocitos Campus. This was a quiz competition on the topic of 100 years of Jewish life in Uruguay, aimed at young people aged 15 to 19 in both formal and informal education settings. The winner was Valeria Malowany, a student at the Yavne Institute.
The event was coordinated by Daniela Lejtrejer, B.A. The panel of judges consisted of Roberto Cyjon, M.Eng., former president of the Central Israeli Committee of Uruguay; Ana Ribeiro, Ph.D., historian and professor at the Faculty of Humanities of the Catholic University of Uruguay; and Ramiro Rodríguez Villamil, Ph.D., co-founder of the weekly newspaper *Búsqueda* and former director of Radio Sarandí. Dr. Gabriel Goldman served as the event’s host.

The event was organized by the Bergstein family and the university’s Department of Jewish Studies.
