Lecture: “The Centennial of Sholem Aleichem”

On Thursday, July 7, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., the lecture “The Centennial of Sholem Aleichem” will take place at the Pocitos Campus (2633 España Blvd.), presented by Gustavo Perednik, a visiting professor in the Department of Jewish Studies. The speaker will offer a retrospective assessment of the man who was considered the Jewish Mark Twain and his influence.

Perednik is a graduate of the University of Buenos Aires and the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (cum laude), and completed his Ph.D. in Philosophy in New York. He studied the humanities at the Sorbonne (France), San Marcos (Peru), and Uppsala (Sweden). He was recognized as an outstanding professor at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.

He is the author of numerous books and articles. The event is organized by the Department of Jewish Studies.
