The speaker will address the role of public administration regarding the religious factor in a pluralistic society and in a state governed by the rule of law such as Uruguay.
Asiaín holds a Ph.D. in Law and Social Sciences. She is a professor of Law and Religion at the University of Montevideo and at the Mons. Mariano Soler Faculty of Theology in Uruguay. She is a visiting professor of Law and Religion at the Catholic University of Uruguay. She is a member of the Ethics Tribunal of the National Party.
This event, organized by the Jewish-Christian Confederation of Uruguay with the support of the university’s Department of Jewish Studies, is part of the lecture series “Building a Secular Uruguay: Different Perspectives, Contributions, and Commitments.”
