The startup Krowth, incubated at the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE), was the local winner of IBM Smartcamp, a global entrepreneurship competition that seeks to identify the best technology-based solution of the year. The event took place on November 1, 2016, at the World Trade Center in Montevideo.

Krowth emerged as the winner in the final round, beating out five other startups, and has advanced to the next phase, where it will compete against startups selected from around the world.

It is a web platform that connects companies and startups, allowing them to conduct transactions without using cash, transforming underutilized capacity into assets, accessing new markets, and financing their growth based on their own work.

The members of Krowth are Mauro Carballo, a student in the Master’s in Technology Business Management – ICT program; Gastón Legnani, a graduate with a Bachelor’s in Systems; and Agustín Sartorio, a graduate with a Bachelor’s in Systems and a Master’s in Technology Business Management – ICT.
