Papers presented at the 15th Meeting of the Uruguayan Physical Society in 2016

Two papers, co-authored by faculty members from the School of Engineering, were presented at the 15th Meeting of the Uruguayan Physical Society in 2016. This peer-reviewed conference, organized by the Uruguayan Physics Society, took place on November 11 and 12, 2016, in La Paloma. Abstracts of the papers were published in the event’s Proceedings.

The presentations (academic posters) are:

- “Shor’s Corrector Code as a Maxwell’s Demon” by Dr. Efrain Buksman, associate professor of physics in the School of Engineering; André Luiz Fonseca De Oliveira, professor of analog electronics and automatic control; and Prof. Ilan Cohn, professor of the Innovation and Design Workshop. It was presented by Dr. Buksman.

- “What can you do with your students' smartphones while teaching Physics?”by Prof. Martín Monteiro, coordinator of the Physics Laboratory at the School of Engineering; Dr. Cecilia Stari, professor of Solid-State Physics at the School of Engineering, Udelar; and Dr. Arturo C. Martí, professor of Applied Physics at the School of Sciences, Udelar. It was presented by Prof. Monteiro.

The articles were accepted in October 2016.
