Riesal is a three-year capacity-building project in higher education,
co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Program, whose primary objective is to create a network to promote the internationalization of higher education in Latin America and the Caribbean. It is based on three lines of action: a professional training and development program, the production of case studies and other publications, and the establishment of a comprehensive specialized technical assistance service.
The European Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education projects are transnational cooperation initiatives based primarily on multilateral partnerships between higher education institutions in program countries and partner countries. In the 2016 call for proposals, 736 project proposals were submitted from around the world, of which 147 were selected for funding, including the Riesal Project.
