Featured article by the editors of the peer-reviewed journal *The Physics Teacher*

The article “The polarization of light and Malus’ law using smartphones” by Prof. Martín Monteiro, coordinator of the Physics Laboratory at the School of Engineering, published in the peer-reviewed journal *The Physics Teacher*, was highlighted in May 2017 by the journal’s editors as one of three open-access articles.

*The Physics Teacher* is a subscription-based journal , so its articles are not publicly accessible. The paper in which Prof. Monteiro participated, having been selected for open access, allows for greater visibility and impact.
