Lecture: “The Ghetto in the Holocaust: Evolution, Characteristics, and Vicissitudes”

On June 8, 2017, the lecture “The Ghetto in the Holocaust—Evolution, Characteristics, and Vicissitudes” was held at the Pocitos Campus, presented by Dr. Efraim Zadoff, a secular humanist rabbi from the International Institute of Secular Humanist Judaism—Tmura Israel. The event was organized by the Department of Jewish Studies. The speaker analyzed different aspects of life, struggle, and survival within the ghetto.

Rabbi Zadoff holds a Ph.D. in History from Tel Aviv University. He is a research fellow at the Arnold and Leona Finkler Institute for Holocaust Research at Bar-Ilan University. He serves on the executive board of the Council of Secular Humanist Rabbis of Israel – Merjav. He is the editor of the Secular Judaism website – a humanist online community.

He is the author, editor, and translator of numerous books and academic articles on topics related to Jewish history. He is the editor and publisher of the Encyclopedia of the History and Culture of the Jewish People and the Shoah – Encyclopedia of the Holocaust. He is the editor of the Encyclopedia of Ghettos in the Holocaust, Yad Vashem.
