Seminar with philosopher Santiago Kovadloff

On May 28 and 29, 2017, a seminar featuring philosopher Santiago Kovadloff, a professor of philosophy at the University of Buenos Aires, was held at the Pocitos Campus (2633 España Blvd.). Starting with the question “Where should we be heading?”, the speaker discussed the relevance of prophetic thought today.

The event was organized by the Center for Jewish Studies and the Department of Jewish Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay.

Prof. Kovadloff holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Business and Social Sciences in Argentina. He is a full member of the Argentine Academy of Letters, a corresponding member of the Royal Spanish Academy, and vice president of the National Academy of Moral and Political Sciences. He is a member of the Argentine Chapter of the Club of Rome.

He is a regular contributor to the Buenos Aires newspaper La Nación. He is a member of the advisory board of Criterio magazine. He was a member of the Ethics Tribunal of the Jewish Community of Buenos Aires. He is the author of the books The Primordial Silence, Essays on Intimacy, The Inevitable, Meaning and Risk in Everyday Life, A Biography of Rain, The Pressures of the Day, and The Enigma of Suffering, among others.
