The School of Management and Social Sciences ranks among the top 25 business schools in Latin America

For the twenty-second consecutive year, the School of Business and Social Sciences was the only Uruguayan business school ranked among the best in Latin America in the annual ranking published by América Economía magazine. In the 2017 edition, the school ranked 20th. The ranking assesses the quality of business schools’ academic offerings, with a focus on their Master of Business Administration (MBA) programs.

In this year’s ranking, the university’s MBA program stood out particularly for its knowledge production, ranking 14th. This indicator measures the production and dissemination of high-quality, relevant knowledge through papers, books, case studies, and book chapters.

The Universidad ORT Uruguay School of Business Universidad ORT Uruguay implemented a policy of developing local case studies and is the only institution in the country to have published its work with Harvard Business Publishing, the world’s most recognized source of educational material in the field of management. One of the objectives is to bring this knowledge into the classroom, fostering more robust and practical learning.

This ranking evaluates four pillars of MBA programs and their respective business schools: Academic Strength (37.5%), Knowledge Production (17.5%), Internationalization and Diversity (20%), and Network Power ( 25%).
