The speakers also recognized the faculty members of the graduate tax program who were appointed as new leaders of the IUET: Félix Abadi, CPA, recently elected as president, and Dr. Gianni Gutiérrez and Federico Otegui, CPA, elected as members of its Board of Directors for the 2017–2019 term.
They also reflected on the changes that have taken place, both locally and internationally, in tax legislation and countries’ attitudes toward tax transparency.
These changes are shaping a new paradigm in the field that affects taxpayers themselves and the work carried out by tax advisors.
