Visiting Professor at the School of Engineering

Dr. Valeria Grazú, a researcher at the Aragón Institute of Nanoscience at the University of Zaragoza, visited the Biotechnology Laboratory of the School of Engineering from June 19 to 27, 2017. She participated in a workshop with representatives from the veterinary pharmaceutical company Virbac and researchers from the university’s Biotechnology department.

She also held meetings with Dr. Lorena Betancor, a faculty member and researcher in biotechnology, and Prof. Sonali Correa, a research assistant at the Biotechnology Laboratory, to discuss joint research projects. Dr. Grazú is co-supervising Prof. Correa’s doctoral thesis alongside Dr. Betancor.

On June 20, she participated in a workshop with researchers from the faculty’s Biotechnology Laboratory and members of the R&D Department of Virbac’s Australian and Uruguayan subsidiaries. The workshop included a presentation of results from joint development projects and future collaborations with the Center for Research and Innovation in Biotechnology, which brings together Virbac and Universidad ORT Uruguay, as well as other companies in the sector.

Prof. Grazú holds a Ph.D. in Science from the Autonomous University of Madrid, a Master’s degree in Chemistry, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry from the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Sciences at the University of the Republic, respectively.
