August 15, 2017
The Department of Jewish Studies at Universidad ORT Uruguay the Center for Jewish Studies organized a seminar led by Rabbi Zvi Elon, which took place on August 11 and 13, 2017, at the Pocitos campus.

The seminar consisted of three lectures:

_ "God's Nap" – August 11.
The speaker reflected on the following questions: What does the Torah mean by rest? Does God need to rest, or is He showing us the importance of spiritual rest as a source of strength?

_ "Leadership: The Leader We Forget" – August 11.
The speaker highlighted the characteristics of Aaron’s hidden leadership in contrast to Moses’s prominence. How does each brother’s leadership style differ?

_“Tikun Olam: A Necessity or a Goal? – August 13.
The rabbi discussed the idea of tikun olam (repairing the world) as a constant endeavor that holds the secret of creation.

Zvi Elon served as rabbi of the Yavne community in Uruguay (2005–2011). In 2011, he was appointed rabbi of the city of Caesarea (Israel), a position he continues to hold today.
