The short film*Estoy bien*, produced by Florencia Guerra, a graduate of the Bachelor’s program in Animation and Video Games, and Georgine Herbig, a student in the same program, won the award for Best National Animation on October 1, 2017, at the seventh edition of the National Student Film Festival (Fenacies).
The short film was produced as part of the courses "Production 4" and "Final Integrative Project." Throughout the process, it was supervised by Prof. Álvaro Buela, professor of Audiovisual Production, and Alejandro Erramún, academic coordinator of the bachelor's program.
Fenacies is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2010 with the goal of creating a film festival for young people.
Designated as being of Educational Interest by the Council of Primary Education, of Cultural Interest by the Ministry of Education and Culture, and of Tourist Interest by the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, the festival aims to strengthen audiovisual education among young people and enable them to express their ideas through the creation of short films.
More than 2,500 people attended the7th edition of the festival, and over 135 short films from 35 countries were screened at various venues: the Nelly Goitiño National Auditorium at Sodre, the 25 de Agosto Theater in Florida, the Plaza Cinema in Trinidad, the Soca High School, and the Tacuarembó House of Culture.
Students from across the country, ranging from elementary schoolers to college students, are eligible to participate in this event, and more than 20 awards are presented in various categories.
