ORT University's sports teams won the "7th Mercosur University Cup," taking home the championship titles in women's handball and women's field hockey and finishing as runners-up in futsal.
The Cup was held from September 14 to 17 in Punta del Este with the participation of the Instituto Tecnológico de Buenos Aires (Argentina), the University of Palermo (Argentina), the University of San Andrés (Argentina), the University of Business Sciences (Argentina), the Torcuato de Tella University (Argentina), the University of the Americas (Chile), the Universidade Luterana do Brasil, the Universidade Anhembi-Morumbi (Brazil), the Catholic University of Uruguay, Universidad ORT Uruguay, the University of Montevideo, the San Francisco de Asis University (Maldonado), the Municipal Campus of Maldonado, the Higher Institute of Physical Education, and the Naval Academy.
Competitions were held in soccer, hockey, futsal, handball, basketball, volleyball, and swimming. ORT University participated with 91 students and alumni in soccer, hockey, futsal, handball, and basketball.
