The book raises the following questions: How much can one know about public affairs? What happens when citizens ask questions? Is the government prepared to answer? This work presents practical examples of the government’s practice of withholding information. It also reviews the long process of enshrining this fundamental freedom, offers a critical analysis of the law intended to resolve the issue, and highlights basic democratic questions that will inevitably arise as this debate continues.
