On December 4, the Faculty of Architecture hosted the lecture "The Universe Within a House: Le Corbusier Between the Classical Tradition of Volume and Independent Plans," presented by architect Álvaro Arrese, an evaluator for CONEAU (National Commission for University Evaluation and Accreditation) in Argentina.
The speaker analyzed aspects such as architecture and site, volume and void, tradition and modernity, and architecture and infrastructure, drawing on examples ranging from the Parthenon and the Erechtheion to the Campo dei Miracoli in Pisa, Andrea Palladio’s Villa Maser and Villa Rotonda, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Robie House and G. Rietveld’s Schröder House, and Le Corbusier’s La Roche House and Savoye House.
Architect Arrese is a member of the MERCOSUR Evaluation Committee. He is a professor and researcher, and served at the Ministry of Culture of the City of Buenos Aires from 2001 to 2007.
