On April 16, the lecture "IP Telephony and the Asterisk Revolution: Understanding the Scope of the Technology" was held in the Auditorium of the School of Engineering. The lecture was presented by Fabricio Pantano, Product Manager at Commlogik Argentina. The event was organized by the School of Technology.
The speaker has years of experience in the market for Asterisk-based IP telephony solutions. As Product Manager at Commlogik Argentina, he has been trained by various vendors in Contact Center Solution Design (Interactive Intelligence), Enterprise and Carrier-Grade Solutions based on Dialogic, Asterisk-based IP Systems, and Biometric Systems (Crossmatch Technologies).
The session aimed to provide an overview of the evolution of telephone systems and the transition to IP-based systems. In this transition toward voice and data convergence, Asterisk emerges as a solution, a development tool, and the technological foundation for implementations at various scales, enabling the IT ecosystem to enter the global telephony systems market. The speaker described Asterisk, its features and capabilities, and provided examples of current implementations and success stories.
