March 26, 2009
Rosario Bianchi, a graduate of the Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Design, won First Prize in the “Images of the Louvre: Six Centuries of European Painting” competition organized by the French Embassy. Meanwhile, Laura Almeida, a student in the program, received an Honorable Mention. For this competition, the Embassy invited all universities and institutions offering Fashion Design programs to participate with a maximum of two students and two graduates, submitting designs inspired by the works of the Louvre Museum.

The selected works were presented at a fashion show held on March 24 in the Zavala Muniz Hall of the Solís Theater. The jury consisted of the Ambassador of the French Republic to Uruguay, Jean-Claude Moyret; fashion designer Oscar Álvarez; and visual artists Clever Lara and Cecilia Mattos, who presented the awards following the fashion show.

Both winners received a trip to France as their prize.
