Conference and seminar on "Risk Management in Oil Exploration"

On April 14, the lecture “The Importance of Risk and Uncertainty Management in Oil Exploration: Relevant Lessons for Uruguay” was held in the auditorium of the School of Administration and Social Sciences. The lecture was presented by Dr. Renato Bertani, who holds a PhD in Geology from the University of Illinois and serves as President and CEO of Thompson & Knight Global Energy Services

In addition, from April 14 to 17, the speaker led the seminar “Management of Oil Exploration in High-Risk Basins.” Both events were organized by ORT University and ASINTENER (International Association for Energy Studies), a nonprofit organization based in Uruguay.

The conference was aimed at decision-makers. Dr. Gaston J. Labadie, Dean of the Faculty of Administration and Social Sciences, delivered the welcome address. The introduction to the topic was given by Andrés Tierno Abreu, President of ASINTENER. The speaker was introduced by Pedro Nicolás Baridon, Member of the Executive Committee and Special Representative of the World Petroleum Council.

The seminar was aimed at professionals and mid-level executives in the fields of law, accounting, economics, geology, and engineering.
