From October 27 to 29, the Faculty of Architecture hosted the "Solar Thermal Energy Seminar," led by Mechanical Engineer Carlos Felipe Da Cunha Farias, Executive Director of ABRAVA – Brazilian Association of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, and Heating. In addition, on Friday, October 30, Mr. Da Cunha delivered the lecture “Heating Water with the Sun: When and How to Do It?”, which was free to the public.
The objective of the seminar is to complement and expand training in the field of solar thermal energy for those who already have prior training in the subject. It includes a roundtable session for questions and the exchange of experiences between the instructor and course attendees.
Da Cunha is a Mechanical Engineer from the Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC MG). He holds a graduate degree in Alternative Energy Sources from the Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), Brazil. He is the Executive Director of the National Department of Solar Heating, Brazil. He is a specialist in solar technology and the Director of the company Solaria Energy and Environment. He is the Coordinator of the Solar Cities initiative.
