On Tuesday, November 17, the launch of the book "Chronicles of Blood, Sweat, and Tears" took place in the Auditorium of the School of Communication and Design, hosted by journalists Marcello Figueredo and Gabriel Pereyra. The book, written by journalist Leonardo Haberkorn, Academic Coordinator of Journalism at the faculty, brings together eleven reports and journalistic investigations on recent events in Uruguay.

Among the reports, the following stand out:

- “The Town That Wanted to Be on TV”: an investigation into the Young tragedy, when eight people were crushed to death by a train during the filming of the television program Desafío al Corazón.

- “The Other Survivors of the Andes”: the story of those who did not experience a miracle—the relatives of those who never returned from the mountain.

- “Together They Were Dynamite”: the tale of Lestat de Orleans, a mysterious American, and Alda Ribeiro, his Uruguayan girlfriend. A love story involving two blown-up hotels in Bolivia, two innocent deaths, and a tragic ending.

- “The Hell of San Antelo”: about the Jerusalem Community scandal that led to the imprisonment of priest Adolfo Antelo for abuse.

- “The Poet’s Stubbornness”: an in-depth portrait of Mario Benedetti, the result of a lunch and two of the author’s final interviews.
