"Theories of Learning" Seminar

April 26, 2010
On April 30 and May 21, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., the seminar "Theories of Learning," led by Dr. Daniel Germán, will take place at the Institute of Education (Mercedes 1187). The seminar is intended for faculty members of ORT University, as part of the activities of the Center for Continuing Education in Higher Education (CAES).

Daniel Germán holds a Ph.D. in Psychology and Education from the National University of Distance Education (UNED) in Spain. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Education Sciences and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology. He is a certified teacher, professor, and director of the Teacher Training Institute. He is a specialist and researcher in learning-related topics.

The purpose of this seminar is to introduce participants to the study of the epistemological traditions that have had the greatest influence on the development of theories of human learning. The role of the teacher explicitly and implicitly involves and encompasses ways of perceiving, understanding, and interpreting the learning it seeks to promote. Its study, therefore, stands as a central pillar of professional development.
