This laboratory was established as part of the Biotechnology Technician program, supported by the ANII through its call for technical-tertiary programs. It is equipped to work with the main techniques used in the field. It has bench space for 20 people working simultaneously, with their respective personal equipment, along with additional areas for shared equipment, rooms for bacterial and eukaryotic cell cultures, as well as rooms for DNA and RNA amplification. The laboratory also has a room for working with fermenters and large equipment, as well as a space for technical assistants to work and for laboratory organization. It also has two fume hoods for chemical work and four laminar flow hoods for microbiology. The microscopy equipment has been specially selected for teaching purposes.
