The "Tango" Tricycle, developed by the Department of Industrial Design Pablo D’Angelo, a professor in the Industrial Design program, has been selected as the Best Project in its category for Uruguay and as one of the best entries to participate in the “II Ibero-American Design Biennial,” organized by the Madrid Designers Association, which opened on November 22 at the Matadero Design Center in Madrid, Spain. The exhibition will continue through February 2011.
The international jury was composed of Adelia Borges (Brazil), Julius Wiedemann (Brazil), Fernando Gutiérrez (England), Carmelo Di Bártolo (Italy), Antonio Toca (Mexico), and Lili Díaz (Puerto Rico).
The “Triciclo Tango” has been manufactured in Uruguay by the company RTM, which has exported more than 100 units to the United States.
