On October 12, the lecture "Convergences and Divergences in the Current Media Landscape" was held in the Communication Auditorium, presented by Dr. José Luis Fernández, Professor of Media Semiotics I at the Faculty of Social Sciences of the University of Buenos Aires (UBA). The speaker discussed transformations in the media, media development strategies, and the role of theory in the face of technological innovation.
Fernández holds a Ph.D. in Social Sciences from the UBA. He directs the journal L.I.S. (Letra, Imagen, Sonido) at the UBA’s Faculty of Social Sciences. He also teaches graduate seminars on Semiotics and Media History at public and private universities. He published the book "The Languages of Radio" and has presented dozens of papers in specialized publications and conferences. For years, he has directed research projects funded by the UBA. As part of this research, he coordinated the book "The Construction of the Radio," published by La Crujía.
