The School of Communication and Design has launched a Music Production Technician program, which begins on March 21. This two-year program trains technicians to work in the various stages of music production: sound recording, nonlinear editing, automated mixing, and mastering; as well as the stages related to live performance: design and calibration of amplification systems, mixing, and live sound recording.
Students develop analytical and evaluative skills that enable them to adopt a critical perspective and make constructive contributions within the framework of sound production in musical creative processes.
Students have access to a recording and mixing studio equipped with professional-grade analog and digital technology; a mastering and mixing room; two sound post-production stations equipped with the global standard (Pro Tools®) in digital audio workstations (DAWs); a radio studio; and a television studio with high-definition technology .
Admission requirement: 5th year of high school.
